Connie Wolf, President

Constance (Connie) Wolf was re-appointed by Mayor London Breed and elected President of the Commission in January 2022. Wolf was first appointed to the Library Commission in 2018. She has been a nonprofit executive in the arts, education, and museums for the past 30 years. Throughout her professional career, she has been dedicated to improving and enhancing the cultural life of communities and their citizens. Wolf served as the Director and CEO of the Contemporary Jewish Museum, where she oversaw the growth of a community-based institution into a new facility with a new program. She formerly served as the Director of the Cantor Arts Center at Stanford University and as the Associate Director at the Whitney Museum. Currently she serves as a consultant leading the integration of a visual arts program into health care facilities at Stanford Health Care and UCSF. She is the Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees at Fort Mason Center for the Arts and Culture. Wolf received a BA in East Asian Studies from Stanford University.

Pete Huang, Vice President

Pete Huang was appointed by Mayor London Breed in October 2018. Pete is an entrepreneur who is passionate about providing opportunities for all communities to connect, engage, and learn through technology. He created a globally recognized newsletter tracking developments in AI, with over 500,000 daily readers. Previously, Pete led sales and product strategy at multi-billion-dollar technology companies. He was also a management consultant with McKinsey & Company. He holds a B.A. in political science and an M.S. in computer science, both from Northwestern University.

Jarie Bolander, Commissioner

Jarie Bolander was appointed to the Library Commission by Mayor London Breed in January 2022.  Jarie is an engineer by training and an entrepreneur by nature with more than 25 years of bringing innovative solutions to markets such as Bluetooth, USB, RFID, and Semiconductor DNA sequencing. He is currently a partner at JSY PR & Marketing, a full-service PR and Marketing Firm. Jarie has published six books, the most recent is The Entrepreneurs Ethos: How to build a more ethical, inclusive, and resilient world. Prior to JSY PR & Marketing, he was co-founder and COO of Lab Sensor Solutions, a digital health company that is applying sensor technology to track the temperature and location of clinical samples to prevent spoilage. Jarie is a former board member of the North Panhandle Neighborhood Association (NOPNA) where he served as Recording Secretary, Vice President, and President. Under his leadership NOPNA helped recreate a more enjoyable Bay to Breakers foot race for everyone, which led to the establishment of the District 5 Neighborhood Action Committee (D5NAC.) He holds an MBA in Technology Management from UOP and a BS in Electrical Engineering from San Jose State University.

Dr. Eurania López, Commissioner

Dr. Eurania Isabel López was appointed to the Library Commission by Mayor London Breed in October 2020. She is a life-long educator and an advocate for immigrants, students, and families in education, housing, employment, and social services.

She has touched the lives of students and community members in K12 public education and higher education, as well as nonprofits and community-based organizations. She is the current Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admission and Recruitment at the San Francisco State University (SFSU). In her role, she creates different pathways for students to gain access to higher education. She also serves as a faculty advisor for multiple student organizations to continue her passion for supporting, mentoring, and inspiring first-generation students. Prior to that, She was the Director of Student Resources Service in the Graduate College of Education, creating different pathways for future K-12 teachers. She led the Step to College (STC) at SF State and was faculty in the Equity, Leadership Studies, and Instructional Technologies Department (ELSIT) for a decade.

Dr. Mary J. Lomax-Ghirarduzzi, Commissioner

Dr. Mary J. Lomax-Ghirarduzzi was appointed to the San Francisco Library Commission by Mayor Edwin Lee in June 2014 and reappointed by Mayor London Breed in 2022. She has served as President of the Commission from 2014-2021, overseeing $170 million, 28-library system. She is an academic and thought leader on race, inclusive leadership, and faith-informed social justice. She is the inaugural vice president for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and Full Tenured Professor of Communication at University of the Pacific (Pacific). She served as dean of students and vice provost of diversity and community engagement at University of San Francisco (USF) from 2008 to 2021. At USF, she led diversity initiatives that resulted in one of the most ethnically diverse university student bodies in the nation. She's also an affiliate faculty member at the Race and Equity Center at University of Southern California and president of the Northern California chapter of the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education.

Dr. Shawn P. Calhoun, Commissioner

Dr. Shawn P. Calhoun was appointed by Mayor Daniel Lurie in March 2025. Shawn has been Dean of Libraries at the University of San Francisco since 2022. Prior to this role, he served in various library positions at USF since 2002. Shawn is a member of USF's Leadership Team, the Provost’s Council of Deans and regularly engages in a wide variety of library and campus-wide strategic initiatives. He is also active in a number of regional and national library organizations. Shawn received his Masters of Library and Information Science from San José State University and his Ed.D. from USF’s School of Education. His BS is also from the University of San Francisco. Dr. Calhoun and his wife have been Miraloma Park residents for over 20 years and prior to that they were residents of the Western Addition. The Calhoun’s have raised 2 sons in The City and both children are now college graduates.

Whitney Jones, Commissioner

Whitney is a senior retail executive who has spent the last 15 years at Gap Inc leading product merchandising divisions across Gap Inc's portfolio of brands: Old Navy, Athleta and most recently at Banana Republic as the Vice President of Merchandising. As a merchandising leader she is responsible for leading the intersection of P&L management, strategy, product creation and operational execution. In addition, Whitney currently serves on the board of the Bay Area Discovery Museum.

Whitney holds a BA in Sociology & Anthropology from Middlebury College, where she also played Varsity lacrosse. Whitney is originally from Philadelphia and has been in San Francisco since 2008. She lives in the city with her husband Zach and two young children.
