Celebrate what's precious in your life by creating a small nicho, or shrine, inspired by the artist Amalia Mesa-Baines. Many cultures have traditional forms of spirituality including home altars honoring the family and life events. Use mixed media to craft a small shrine highlights special objects by foregrounding them in the box like a small shrine. Pay tribute to someone who is important in your life or honor a specific life event or moment in time.
Please bring your own mementos, artwork, natural objects or other items you would like to include in the nicho.
