Learn how to make your very own compost! The backbone of every healthy garden, compost enriches soil, reduces waste, improves plant health and more. Garden for the Environment will teach the basics of composting in your backyard, introduce the world of worm composting and give tips on how best to use your city compost bin. Come learn what you can do to improve your garden, save water and prevent waste from ending up in the landfill.

Attending Programs

All programs are drop-in (no registration necessary) unless otherwise noted. All SFPL locations are wheelchair accessible. For accommodations (such as ASL), call (415) 557-4557 or contact accessibility@sfpl.org. Requesting at least 3 business days in advance will help ensure availability.
