1:00 - 4:30
We continue SFPL’s 100 Years of Surrealism film series with a screening of selected surrealist short films, followed by a screening of director Jan Švankmajer’s surreal feature film Alice.
In Alice (1989), Czech animation master and surrealist artist Svankmajer presents a dark, surrealistic interpretation of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, in which the young girl Alice follows a demonic rabbit through a decaying landscape littered with broken, discarded objects and nightmarish toys. Not for children!
NR, 96 mins., 1989. Closed captions (CC) in English.
