SFO Museum Established in 1980 by the San Francisco Airport Commission, SFO Museum operates more than twenty-five sites throughout the Airport terminals, including fourteen galleries that exhibit a rotating schedule of art, history, photography, science, and cultural exhibitions. The Museum has been accredited by the American Alliance of Museums since 1999 and retains the distinction of being the only accredited museum in an airport.
Nicole Mullen, Curator in Charge of Exhibitions at SFO Museum, has worked at SFO for over sixteen years. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and her Master’s Degree in Heritage Preservation from Georgia State University. Prior to working at SFO Museum, she served as the Education Specialist at the Phoebe A. Hearst Museum of Anthropology at UC Berkeley.
Sally Yu Leung, Independent Scholar, Curator, and Collector of Chinese Decorative Arts, has partnered with SFO Museum on exhibitions since the 1990s. Ms. Leung is a graduate of UC Berkeley where she earned degrees in Oriental Languages and Physiology and is the Founder of the James Cahill Asian Arts Study Center at UC Berkeley. Currently she serves as the Cultural Ambassador of the San Francisco Asian Art Museum. In 2012, she was inducted into the Chinese Ministry of Culture’s Hall of Fame for contributions to the protection and preservation of Chinese cultural heritage.
