This magical holiday tradition starts with a 30-minute talk about San Francisco Ballet’s long history of performing the Nutcracker, followed by a 30-minute fun and easy Nutcracker-Inspired Chair Dance Class. Bring your friends and family and dance to the famous Tchaikovsky score. Suitable for all ages and abilities.

The American holiday tradition of Nutcracker performances started here in San Francisco in 1944. This event is a perfect  introduction before watching a live performance of Nutcracker in the SF War Memorial Opera House from December 6–29, 2024. Performances for Young Audiences, ages 3+, are on Tue., Dec. 10 and Dec. 17 at 11 a.m.
