Navigate the 2025 Tax Season at San Francisco Public Library
SAN FRANCISCO, January 6 – San Francisco Public Library (SFPL) presents Tax Season Success, offering five expert-led virtual workshops between January and March. Whether members of the public are beginners or dealing with a more complicated tax return, these workshops provide them with everything they need to file taxes safely and accurately.
“Figuring out your tax situation can be intimidating, so we want to create opportunities for our community to learn from experts at no cost,” says Jonathan Steimnitz, personal finance librarian at the Main Library’s Business, Science and Technology Center. “We are thrilled to welcome knowledgeable tax professionals to help San Franciscans have a stress-free tax season.”
This series, hosted on Zoom, is an excellent opportunity to receive clear guidance on various topics, including understanding state and federal income taxes, considerations when picking a tax preparer, eligible credits and deductions and what to do if you encounter issues with the IRS. Presenters include the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic, Larry Pon, CPA/PFS, CFP, EA, USTCP, AEP, and Heather Liston, CFP, EA.
Tax season can also be a great time to review finances more generally. Throughout the year, the public can access free one-on-one financial guidance with Certified Financial Coaches and Certified Financial Planners® through the Library’s partners at the San Francisco Financial Empowerment Center and Advisers Give Back.
