The Digi Center is San Francisco Public Library’s base of operations for its digitization and digital preservation projects and programs.
Its physical space is a staff-only area for in-house digitization projects.
The room is converted to a public space when Digi Center hosts programs and events related to digitization and digital preservation.
Its virtual space is at digitalsf.org, where it hosts and manages SFPL's Digital Collections: digitized and born-digital materials from the Library's archival, government documents, and other unique departmental and branch collections. Formats include photographic prints, negatives, and slides; documents and manuscripts; books; maps; oral histories; and audiovisual recordings. New materials are added on a regular basis.
